Well most say, and I want to agree, that YouTube video creator Max Cornelisse is at best acting rather than actually gaining unwarranted access to various computer and electronics systems in these videos he posts. They range from that embedded on this post where he supposedly hacks into the tele-prompter for a news show to play a little prank while they are on the air, to various other systems hacking and even one showing some sort of revolutionary holograph system which he uses to chat with his friend, vizualized as a life size 3-D hologram.

The problem I have here is that I am unable to find any sort of evidence that leads to a definitive answer to this question, “Is this real or not?” On top of that, I know enough about computer and electronics systems to know that surely this is all possible, however unlikely. The best arguments I can find to deny these video’s validity is first: If it was real he would not post videos like this giving away seemingly everything a legal agency would need to prosecute and convict, and second: The likely-hood of someone being able to do all of these various hacks with such apparent ease is extremely unlikely, rare at best. These arguments are weak as far as I am concerned though; I am not certain how likely these types of activities would provoke legal repercussions especially in the Netherlands. Seriously think about this, how many kids out there have been caught because they couldn’t resist the urge to share their story with others? I needn’t argue the point any further than to say that if this is a hoax or fictitious show, it surely is elaborate and honestly I’d say it would be harder to fake these than to simply pull off the real thing for myself. Any of them would either take an extraordinary joint effort from professional news Anchors, corporations, technicians, etc. or some wild and time consuming CG/special effects.

At this point I would say that, at best, these videos are somewhat staged; I mean that he has prepared beforehand his attack and equipment, where in the videos he sometimes says, “Now I will try…”  as if to suggest that this is his first attempt, however I believe he knows full-well before shooting the video how to accomplish his mission and this wording could very well be a poor translation or a misleading choice of words.

It’s quite obvious that there is a lot of news in the subject of computer and internet technology as well as in their security. Numerous reports have been circulating for the last few months about the increased threat and levels of activity 2009 will bring in the world of computer and network exploits.

This blog was started in response to this information and seeks to provide the general public and security professionals alike with in-depth views into the world of both white-hat and black-hat hacking.
